If you've ever sat in a cold shack at 2 a.m. waiting for a JT65 decode to come back from the moon, you already know why this mug exists. It's made for the EME crowd — the ham radio operators who think bouncing a signal off the lunar surface and actually hearing it return 2.5 seconds later is a completely reasonable Saturday night.
The artwork wraps the whole width of the mug. On the left, a multi-element yagi sits on a metal mast in a dewy grass field. On the right, a little wooden shack has a glowing vintage transceiver mounted right in the window — amber dial, analog VU meter, knobs — the whole thing. Dominating the upper center is an enormous moon that looks like it's cracked open along a curved seam, and a golden arc of sparks sweeps from it down toward the antenna like a signal mid-bounce. The sky goes from deep orange sunset at the treeline up into a star-filled dark blue. It's the kind of image you want to stare at while your coffee cools.
